New Year's Surprise

Welcome to my first blog! I wanted to have a place where I could document and share the journey of adopting our 4-year old son from China.

Today, December 29, 2008, we received the official referral--the Letter Seeking Confirmation (LSC) from our adoption agency for our sweet little boy--Xiaolei. He is waiting for us in an orphanage in Beijing. We simply can't wait to meet him!

The adoption agency informed us that we should expect to travel in mid to late February! FEBRUARY!! WOW! There is so much to do to get ready! My birthday just happens to be in February, so I will receive perhaps the best birthday gift of all time--meeting our new son and holding him for the very first time!

We decided to call our little boy Levi because the name means "bonded and attached in harmony and unity". We pray that Levi will feel bonded and attached with his new family. He will not only gain 2 parents but also a big brother (Theo) who is 6 and a sister (Ruthie) who is also 4. In fact Levi's birthday is only 2 days after Ruthie's birthday. We are all very excited to welcome our new addition to the family!

We ask for your continued prayers as all of the details of finalizing the adoption proceed over the next 2 months.
